Last Film You Watched

They werent actually in space or a spacestation.

So past the 'green screen' or whatever was used theres no actual story, ergo nothing happens -- if I paid to watch that in the cinema id have asked for a refund....can look out of the window and watch clouds move for free.

You're missing the point. The plot is thoroughly insignificant. It's a triumph in cinematography.

I don't even know why the bothered releasing it on DVD. It's cinema or bust with this film.

Terrible argument. How they filmed it is utterly irrelevant. Next you'll be telling me that an album cannot be any good if it was produced on a computer.

I agree that the plot is poor. But that is not why you would watch this film. It's all about the visuals.

Im not disagreeing with you.

Im simply saying if people want to save a bit of cash then look at the clouds or better still wait till night and look at the stars.

Personally I think this movie is pointless.

Watched the giver today.

VERY slow build up to a nothing ending. Cinema was speechless with a lot of,

"Is that it?".

Give it a miss.

Something with RS Daniel Craig as a jewish resistance leader fighting the Germans in forests. Got in last night hammered and can't remember virtually any of it, will need to watch again.

I have to say that I thought Gravity was a spectacular film. The build up of the space junk returning, the classically laid back astronaut with the reflective stories, the game-like structure of the story, and THAT Ten Minute Opening Shot.

As a Film-maker in many respects I was seriously impressed with what they achieved and how they did it. On the big Screen in 3D I was glued to my seat the whole film.

That being said, I would struggle to watch it again on TV. It's more of an event. You want gritty Drama you don't go watch a Real Time Space Epic. I would definitely go to the Cinema again to see it though.
