Watched it two more times and while it is a nice way to spend a few hours there's things my brain doesn't understand so good.

I haven't googled these to find explanations. Can anyone explain?
If the Ranger can escape the stronger Gravity of the first tidal wave Planet, why do we need mutiple stage rocket booster to get to the space station from earth when they are clearly in a Ranger?
Why IS there a Space Station up there in the first place?
Why did they go to the Tidal wave planet and not know there were Tidal waves there until it was right on top of them?
Why did they not study this Planet from its orbit?
Why not hug someone you haven't seen for 23 years?
Why was the communication from the original explorers just a ping, yet stuff from Earth was video?
What is Blight and why didn't we stop it?
What year is it set?
How could they develop TARS and CASE and not make any more of them?
Why was the watch hand still moving? Shouldn't the books still be flying around in this case?
How do you take control of a drone with a laptop and not have anything else?
Why do I know there will never be a sequel and why do i think there absolutely should be?

You're obviously too intelligent to be watching this film and should really just view it as a sophisticated " popcorn " film. The ending is totally preposterous !.
