Last Film You Watched

Seen 5 new films recently. Quick reviews of them

Angus very bad horrible day- Good film, enjoyable to watch with the kids. bit silly as expected but i did enjoy it, made me laugh a couple of times and Steve carrell is great in it. 6/10

Ride Along 2- Funny film. Still feels like a vehachle for Ice cube and kevin HArt to just say funny things but i enjoyed it, not as funny as the first though. 7/10

Daddy's home- Not that funny, perhaps it is just me growing tired of will ferrell films though? Mark Wahlberg good though, enjoyable but not up loads on laughs 5/10

Deadpool- Brilliant film. If you get where the film is coming from, you will enjoy it. If you haven't a clue where the jokes are coming from then you won't. Simple as that. 10/10 (subjective)

Mad Max Fury Road- I really enjoyed the experience without knowing what was going on half the time. Really didn't pick up plot points but as the general visual experience and pace of the film, can't fault it. Even after the first chase sequence with load music and visual striking effects, once it cut to silence, my head was ringing like i had been through it. 8/10

Mad max and ride along were very much good films.

Ive got a cheap cinema near me so watch loads when they come out...killer though as run out of films now thst i wanted to see past and present.

Should neve have split that in two. Spread it too thin.

Can you recommend any espionage movies which i may not have seen before? You seem to have quite a range of genres in your locker....

Feel like ive watched every movie made at the moment...stuck now.

i did get a suprise reading what the plot of Mad max was beyond the chasing and stuff haha thought as a move on face value, with no idea of the film beforehand it was very good. I have never seen the old ones, but i would love to see a sequel to it if thats what it would look like,

Well you know when youre younger everything seems better in the cinema?

Mad Max including the often slated thunderdome were amazing and scared the life out of me when i was a kid....now of course they are a bit dated BUT i think if you binge watch them in a row you'll not regret it.

You can see the differences of course with mel gibsons and tom hardys characters....mel gibson was amazing and the centre stage.

i was disappointed with tom hardys role but enjoyed the movie alot on the 2nd watch....hopefully they make another centered on max...i think they may have been hunting for a wider audience with charlize theron as the focus....

The hindsight impression i have of it was that the film is less a big blockbuster and more an idea put into practice. The 'imagine if there was one big action scene' type of thing and using the mad max idea they could stage it in the desert and use that visual effect. I know very little though, that is my own thoughts. I know they are thinking of a sequal that doesn't have theron in it so it will be max only, perhaps they can flesh him out a little more into a leader type rather than random stowaway.

Although if you took the mad max title out the film, Hardy as random survivor/do gooder isn't that bad of a role to have.

Havent seen lives of others or smileys people...was looking at smileys people and one other follow up by le carre to watch. Also two others ther, the triple cross and eye of the needle havent seen either.

Thanks for putting the list together!

As for Enemy, its not at all an espionage movie...sont want to spoil it so will just say thst its one of those films where you need to watch it twice to fully understand it and dont watch a trailer or read any reviews of it.

Me and the gf were so confused watching it first time ut one of the only movies weve spent the next few days discussing it and trying to figure it out.

I reckon you should download the mad max movies mate then you will see the differences....its definitely not focused on original fan base for me. I enjoyed it like i said but the premise is so different from the Mad Max original movies...first one shows the background to what made him "mad max"...second one shows him become a hero but still a mercenary loner really.....and the third is a mix of both really and better visually.

The best actor in mad max was the english kid who changed sides....hes pretty good actually.

Watched Kill your friends

Wants to be another American Psycho. The lead actor i brilliant and it starts off quite good in terms of scene setting....however doesnt really go as deep as it could and doesnt end well either in comparison.

he is the beast in the xmen films as well mate. Good actor, was in a show called skins over here, a real breakout role for him, before that, he was the little boy in about a boy.

Is he really the beast? Nicholas hoult isnt it?

see above i also watched his new one kill your friends.

hes very good indeed.

I wonder also who will be the next james bond as they always go for someone whose not globally known.....personally id have tom hardy but i think they will go for an up and coming actor.

aye he has been in a few things but xmen and mad max his biggest so far.

I'd imagine he is a little bit too soft for james bond, it is clearly going to be Idris Elba, the amount of backing he has for it has to make it happen.
