At times like this you retreat, wounded, into familiar pleasures. Pan's Labyrinth.. A marvellous film, a modern classic and surely an escape from the despondency of today...

At least it was until this guy turned up:

Spanish General with inflexible adherence to dogmatic philosophy who loses his troops and his family in a grim war against the locals he's supposedly arrived to give a better life to, while completely ignoring the many signs around him that the cause is lost... FFS... there's no respite to be found anywhere

Was alright, decent watch, not great.

That russian metal dude and the moody teenager bit was uncalled for, I know why they did it, but it almost ruined the film for me.

Loved Sicario me, was a really good film, havent watched the other, didnt look like my kind of film, but neither did Sicario.

Bridge of Spies is a terrific movie, true story and brilliantly presented.

Thinking I went wrong with a Spanish tragedy. Shoulda just watched Kung-fu Panda.

I was sad I didn't get to see what the metal dude saw, with regard to Ms. Carano.

Sicario was great, haven't seen bridge of spies, but I will get round to that, heard very good things. I actually watched sicario in a cinema in holland, and the spanish bits had dutch subtitles, as I don't habla espanol or schpeak the dutsch, I didn't actually understand those bits totally, but it's amazing the things you do observe when you can't understand what is being spoken, picking up the gist on body language, thanks in large part to how amazing the cast was

Very superficial this, but when I was over there for training at Samsung in November, the sheer number of 8's, 9's and 10's was just phenomenal!!
