Haha. Should probably have elaborated, I lived in Yarm for a period with work and I believe that's where his Mrs is from. He was up there the same weekend as me, I didn't actually see him but one of my friends walked past him without realising it was him. Until it was all over the local paper the next day. Said he's a lot more unassuming and also a lot shorter than he looks in his films.

Just watched Black Mass, the story of Jimmy 'Whitey' Bulger. Not bad. I would rate it four slugs out of a possible six.

Watched it myself this week . Was good.

Just finished watching the deer hunter. Was ok but expected more considering the hype it gets .

I watched Goodfellas and Scarface back to back the other night. Two of my favorite films. Utter boss.

Scarface is another old classic that I find badly overrated. Some great lines in it but the film itself is not on the level of goodfellas .

Yeah. Goodfellas just nails it in everyway. As you say Scarface has the one liners which stand out but for me it's not as good.

Still good but not as good.

Do you honestly believe that Tom Hardy and Christian Bale are worse actors than Tom Hanks? If so, thats frankly bizarre.

Not that bizarre really, Zat. I prefer Bale to both but Hanks has been the star in some huge films and won plenty of awards. It's not a ridiculous thing to say.

The misfortune of watching Forrest Gump??? Dear lord.

That doesn't make a good actor. And are you overlooking the large weight loss of Hanks for Castaway? And Philadelphia?

I've never seen shawshank redemption even though people tell me it's brilliant. I boycott Tim Robbins movies as well.

Shows what a bad decision boycotting any actor is. Shawshank is one of the best films ever. Also Nothing to Lose is pretty funny. Some of the best scenes in both center on Robbins.

I had Cage on my list after the weatherman, but he sneaked through in after kickass.

Tom Cruise was banned for a few years, but I enjoyed Jack reacher and the one with Emily blunt in.

Live, Die, Repeat is cool. Cruise has a life pass from me from Top Gun etc, and Cage is a guilty pleasure, who's been in some great films - Con Air, Face Off etc, and can actually do good work, eg Leaving Las Vegas.

I watched top gun the other month on the beach in the Maldives, it's so cheesy it's brilliant.
