He was deep in thought Rob, i never actualy met him ( He was a distant relative, and i painted his portrait from a photo as a favour for another relative ),sadly the man passed away a couple of months ago, my Uncle took the photo when the old man had a bit of a funny turn, he suddenly felt weak and had to sit down for a while, so i guess i at least got his expression right.
Thanks for the positive comments Rob.

hmm, so knowing that.... maybe fading from a concretey yard to a farmers field would be just the job?

Latch, thats what you've been doing, creating more masterpieces, because that is what they are Rob, God do I wish my efforts came out nearly so well as yours. Never put those brushes down Latch(y) (y) :D :D

Latch, those are very good. I consider myself 'good' at drawing, but I could never come close to those.

I am just curious, how is your writing. I knew an excellent animator/artist (she was the lead animator for Flounder on Disney's The Little Mermaid and amazing with a pencil) and her writing was incomprehensible.

ermm... how can I explain my vision, so he is in a yard, typical cement inner city type back "garden" but his wish is to be young once again and playing in the rolling fields of the countryside.

so, around him is the back yard, but the further you look around the man the more it turns into fields and trees and blue sky.

latch, superb. excellent really does not seem to do them justice. you have an amazing talent.

one question... the distant relative (old man) is he the same old man from the previous painting you posted of two old men standing on the beach looking at a boat when the tide had gone out?

have you ever drawn everton related stuff. moysie or gp?

Ok i can see where you are coming from now Rob, every picture tell's a story sort of thing, that vision of yours is a good one and i wish i could say that it's correct, but like i said the simple truth is that my Uncle just took a photo of his father-in-law, the old man had to sit down for a bit as he felt a bit unwell, why he actually took the photo i dont know, the fact is though that it is the last photo of him and as such my Uncle wanted me to turn it into a painting to give to his wife ( the old man's daughter ) as a surprise up-coming birthday present.
I'd just like to add that i think you have got a bit of an Artistic eye yourself Rob. (y)

Them welsh pencils must be somethin they are brilliant man especially the old guy don,t waste that talent latch

Thanks Daz, i'll keep at it mate.

Much appreciated Teppic, thanks for that, no mate, no connection at all to that other painting you are talking about although he did live by the sea and was a keen fisherman.
Funny you should mention painting Everton subjects, all will be revealed...!
