Quoting meself!Sheikh Mahboub is a horse isn't it?
Is this you being mischevious about lawn-mowers?
My old man used to work out in Saudi, he once met a fella called Sheikh Mahboub. I hope it's him, I'd be made up if we were owned by Sheikh Mahboub, even if he's brassik like. Anyway, that's my contribution, hope it makes the home page.
Sorry mate didn't realise - it is a horse on a stud farm though.Quoting meself!
Seems it's a fairly common name in the Muslim world, which is nicely ironic given that sort of behaviour is somewhat frowned upon.Sorry mate didn't realise - it is a horse on a stud farm though.
Yes I know. Lets hope takeover happends sooner than later. We do have one or two other interested parties though you do realise?
These two currently enjoying their exclusivity agreement will hopefully fall away soon so the other(s) can come to the fore.
Incumbents need to sell.
Agreed. They need to sell. For the first time they are in need to sell. It will happen unless all interested parties decide to withdraw themselves from the equation.Something has to give sooner rather than later. When BK isn't around anymore what happens then? If we're doing ok on the pitch and the same level of investment in the squad continues (and the policy of keeping hold of our best players continues) then there'll be quietism. Anything short of that and there'll be anger. I cant see the passivity we've seen in the past continuing under a bureaucrat like Elstone or the absentee director in the States or the charisma bypass director we have over this side of the pond.
Kenwright has been the glue holding the whole shaky edifice upright. He isn't here anymore and there's nothing else other than for this lot to sell up in the short term in a relatively strong position (though not pushing their luck with potential new owners) or be chased out with the club in turmoil and them having to face a lot of negative publicity which might force their hand in any later sale.

It's simple for me: if/when BK is not around, there's no organic link between club hierarchy and support. It's more nakedly then a them v us scenario. As said: if all is ok on the pitch = no problem. Any difficulties, though, and there's nothing to act as a levee to hold back a wave of anger.
Not wishing to derail the thread over what was a throwaway gag, but while you're correct in your translation, it does mean beloved, it is pretty common as both a surname and a given name. The spelling was my own affectation, it's more commonly Mahbub, Mahboob etc.Mahboub in Arabic means "loved' and it's not a name, it's a world, most probably it was "Mahmoud" and you thought it was "Mahboub"
In addition to all the above which I agree wholeheartedly there is the increasing issue of what can be referred to as the competitive gap funding requirement, ie the amount of investment required to bridge the gap between ourselves and those clubs with stronger balance sheets and cash generative commercial and sponsorship activities.
That amount is increasing month by month and can only prove damaging to the value of the equity for all shareholders not just the board.
