I'm not sure that's true.

Actually, it isn't true.

There isn't anyone or any group, asking questions. As a fan base, we're all sat here shrugging our shoulders - until when?

It's not ideal.

Sorry poor English on my part, I meant in relation to any takeover or new investment.

On more routine matters there has been good dialogue in the past.

Don't we have a shareholders association?

There's also a few fan groups, I suspect will wait until the horse has bolted before piping up.

Now's the time to be vocal, even if just a profiling piece/efforts to pry and investigate. Profiling pieces etc.

The Everton SA have a history of pliancy (apart from a few years ago when there was a coup against the usual blazer and badge brigade).

My take on this FWIW is that supporters are willing to take a chance, even if the initial knowledge turned up on Moores and co. have certain alarm bells ringing. I just dont think there's the stomach for a fight, because they figure that what's here now needs to be gotten rid of.

The Everton Shareholders' Association was founded in 1938 under the auspices of Mr RE Searle who was later to become a director of the Club.

It is interesting to note that the original intention of the association was that it should act in the interests of the Club - it was to become a form of 'watchdog' over important matters concerning the Club and was responsible for supervision of transactions and sales of shares.

This description still carries weight today.

The association gets involved in Club affairs when it feels it necessary

Genuine question here - wouldn't now constitute as necessary?

Does anyone know if any of the fan groups, like the below two are doing anything at the moment? I can't recall seeing anything. I'm assuming they're just waiting until an outcome like the rest of us?

  • Campaign for a democratically elected representative from the Supporters Trust to sit on the Board of Directors at Everton Football Club to represent and promote the interests and views of all Evertonians.
  • Campaign for Supporter Ownership of Everton Football Club

http://www.theblueunion.co.uk/

Formed in the latter part of 2011, the Blue Union is a conduit for fan activism; an organisation which campaigns for the continuous improvement of Everton Football Club and believes wholeheartedly that the integration of fans into a real People’s Club will bring about a change for the better in Everton’s fortunes when the fan’s opinion, the fans voice, the fans ideas are increasingly deferred in favour of those of the club’s owners, the premier league and the media organisations who inject billions into the game, a game, which without those fans, is nothing.

Swansea fan groups launched their own due diligence and forced the issue.

Shame as a fan base we lack such a collective unity/nous.

The first we'll likely know anything about this is when it's done and dusted.
Think one of the problems is there are so many divisions between sets of supporters, going back to KEIOC that I doubt all supporters would come together as one

This is where the demonisation of KEIOC and the Blue Union comes back to haunt us. Organisations seeking representation have been pilloried and marginalised and the only group standing between the owners and selling the club down the road are a shareholders association purged of the Reform Group that put up a bit of a fight against Kenwright and Co. a decade ago.

Sow > reap.

That, as I've always believed is Bill's greatest legacy, a division of supporters that would take eons, if ever, to reconcile.

IMHO it's on a par with the split that spawned the [Poor language removed] offspring.

Seems the fans, individually and collectively have been cowed by the the boards (and backers) astoundingly good use of media techniques/spin, locally and nationally. Got to admire how these spivs set the agenda:
questioning of the board is yob/kopite behaviour
careful what you wish for (Portsmouth, Leeds etc ffs)
Kenwright's a Blue/unwell so keep your grids shut
doing well considering how tiny we are

Even the disastrous Kewnright interview with the BU got turned around from the actual content to why was it recorded

New Labour would be proud of what's been accomplished here

Appreciate your sentiments, but I think social media giving a platform went some way. A lot of clubs have similar 'fan activism'.

Yep the KEIOC that kept the club from Kirkby extinction/irrelevancy. Will be buying those lads drinks if I ever bump into them.

Not convinced Changy. It was called in because of a considered impact on neighboring areas.

Nobody knows what that stadium could have offered Everton. Some say total abyss, some say Man City's owners, I'm somewhere in the middle.

But that isn't for this thread...

They didn't really keep us from going to Kirkby, but the splendid job that they actually did was to make it clear and apparent to anybody who wanted to listen, that this board were trying to pull a disgraceful and ill thought out punt and jeopardising the clubs future.
