I am the last person to defend Liverpool fans but the club has been sold twice to the highest bidder the fans have no say in that likewise will we when were are eventually sold.

If we except the supporters play a major role in the spectacle for the TV audiences, and that gate receipts are now a small percentage of earnings compared to the money earned from TV, then perhaps clubs should consider dramatically lowering ticket prices to fill the stadiums with the traditional fan base that arguably create a much better atmosphere.Thereby increasing TV audience and with that revenue ?

This. Can't turn the clock back and pretend Michael Foot and the Labour Party are in with a chance of defeating Maggie Thatcher. The war is over. It's a free for all capitalist society. If a working class man can't afford to take his two kids to the match then he either needs to re-train and start trading equities in the City or pick one of the kids as a favourite and introduce the other to crosswords.
