After the other thread my two cents is this

these might not be the saviours of the club we have all been dreaming of. We probably won't turn into a top 4 team overnight with them and there will be emphasis on the manager to do that instead.

The other side of it is we all want a well run club and there is the evidence to that we could well be one and strengthen our financial position in the league which would benefit us considerably.

The truth is out there as to what we will get but these don't seem to be owners, they are business men and it's whether we want instant success or long term stability when it comes to a take over.

Sounds exactly like Kenwright.

Not investing into the playing staff.

Keeping the wage bill low.

Not willing to fork out own money to build a team.

Using public funds to build a new stadium.

Selling the club to make personal profits.

Why the hell do we need to replace one kenwright with another kenwright?
But this is just not true is it. The story on that link has nothing to do with what BK has done at everton.

Washington D.C., with Major League Soccer: “D.C. United’s new stadium, and the fact that a portion of the city’s $150 million is coming out of a school-modernization program, is a bit much to swallow. However, D.C. United knows that there are enough towns in the Northern Virginia suburbs looking for a team to make them “big time” that it could have its pick if D.C. didn’t pay. It’s getting a half-price deal on the costliest soccer-only stadium in the country because D.C. doesn’t want the team to flee for the suburbs.

The threat of moving teams is a significant factor in alot of cases but there is no way Everton would move outside the city of Liverpool. Even if "snake owners" tried it, the outrage would be too great

As long as they have some marketing know how and have serious desires to improve our stadium issue then I'm all for it. We are so stagnant with our current regime it's scary. Even if they are after a bit of profit the best way to do that is improve our infrastructure and our results so everyone would be happy.

In America we have the franchise notion where clubs can moved half way across the country to a more lucrative location.

I have often wondered if that notion would ever come to the Premiership, if there are any rules or byelaws which can stop a premiership club moving to a different location and also where that location could be .

It is a notion that may put some pressure on the City Council to make sure the club stays where it is or at least nearby.

Also Moores owned the Padres on his own, with Noell working as vice chairman. This reported takeover mentions a consortium with members from on both sides of the pond which leads me to believe the group was expanded to secure means to finance a stadium

Kirkby.

I had to chuckle, there is 59% don't know/not sure. I wonder how many of them were in the get out BK camp and now faced with the possibility retreat into their shells.

Are you a takeover or do you want to stay with BK. That is the choice if you want to stay with BK then do not come back and complain about him, the board, Elstone.

For me I would like to see new owners and have voted so but there are reservations :-

Look across the park that seem to be working out.

Look at Man U where the Glazers loaded the cost of the takeover as a loan to the club but the club has increased in value

Who exactly are these folk and who is the consortium they are fronting.

Do they have the funds to move the club forward and I do not mean filling the pockets of BK, Earl etc.

Can' see it being feasible in England, every city/town has their own club (most with a rich history). For example new owners couldn't go to the LCC and say "you'll contribute X amount of money or we're going to Manchester, London, etc". Those cities are well stocked with clubs and theres no incentive for those cities to accept and fund a stadium for another club. Where as here in the US there are plenty of "major cities" lacking professional teams with a desire to do so. Even some "smaller cities" such as Virginia Beach (who in the past we're after the Expos before they went to DC) are planning arenas with longshot hopes at a pro team someday.
