It just amuses me how Man City think they have a right to ride roughshod over the landscape - simply because they have enough money to tempt anyone (well, anyone who is remotely money-oriented but, let it be said, not one player of true World Class standing currently contracted to another club (lest we be confused by omitting Carlos Tevez who allowed his contract to be terminated by Manchester United).
Well I feel truly sorry that your club and your fans have acquired a detached attitude to reality these past few years. It shows no sign of abating. To wit - 'We are going to win the league this year blah blah blah' - I bet you don't even get a point at Spurs on Day 1!!
Apart from not wanting to give them a lesson in Business Ethics - because they remain great comedy value in their dealings with other clubs and the media - let's just touch base on their management and playing staff. Have they managed to attract a TRUE WINNER to manage them? A Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger, Pep Guardiola for example? Nope. Have they acquired any real top-line players who would walk into the best of Europe? No!
Project Buy the Premier League and Champions League isn't going so well is it? You can't just buy the league overnight. You can't even find an ounce of humility over your financial kidnapping players from other clubs - you have to entice them with ridiculous sums - £200K a week for a player on Barca's bench!!
If Citteh do win the league anytime soon I feel sure that it will be so hollow as to be virtually ignored by anyone who truly cares about the game... and we'll all move on. Big club? DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH.
