Le$cott out of shitty!

Can't help feeling that Citteh pre-Sheikh times plus 2 top top players per year and not the merry-go-round we've seen of late would have done a lot better than they have. Can't help it if I think Tevez supplanted himself out of Man U by refusing the new options put to him. Can't help it if I have a wry smile over the Tevez 'Welcome to Manchester' poster. Can't help it if I laugh at Adebayor's total lack of respect to his former employer (in his departure and in his celebration and also, lest it be forgotten, in the disgraceful tackle he perpetrated on the Arsenal opponent). Can't help but be stunned by Barry's lack of professional ethics in walking away from Liverpool's offer (a club with a rich tradition and perennially competing in the Champions League). Who could ignore Yaya leaving mighty Barcelona (Champions of Spain, dethroned Champions of Europe)?

So, what's the common theme here? The King's (oops, sorry I mean Sheikh's) ransom notes.

I'm sure many, if not all of the 18 players likely to appear on Citteh's teamsheets are pretty decent players with many fine qualities. But, when you examine the characters they've enticed to Eastlands - see above please - it's hardly surprising that, returning to the theme I proposed in the opening sentence, that we haven't seen the likes of Kaka, Gerrard and Torres - and many more besides - ALL OF WHOM WERE COURTED - appearing as the new poster boy.

And, as a footnote, given Joleon's wayward history back in Wolverhampton, we really shouldn't be surprised he was turned by the opportunity to be super-super-super rich as opposed to plain old Lord of Frodsham level status.

Well that's probably still up for debate. If we've paid through the eyeballs this summer and do no better in the coming season then we can assess what went wrong. If we do significantly better then maybe they didn't just come for the money?

Nah, you'll sack the manager, install a new one and think you're certs for next years title more like.

Bleedin' hope not. Hughes dug his own grave but prior to that the board seemed committed to giving the club something it hadn't had for a while...stability in the managerial department. Long may that continue with their man in charge.

Its nothing to be ashamed of. And he's a good player...if a little lightweight. But you've spent almost £25million for him. Thats almost the same as a Torres, a Tevez, etc for someone who give or take, is not the 1st person on peoples minds when it comes down to a creative midfielder in the Gerrard, Fabregas, Lampard, mould that Citeh probably need to win titles.

Wait and see like, he may come up trumps. And Im surprised Citeh fans know what formation Mancini is gonna play because Im not even sure he knows. Clearly hasnt let the new players come in and gel and the pre-season friendlies I've watched seem like a exercise in players he's wanting to get shut of rather than trying out a new style of play.

That's my view. And still why I feel Spurs have a better squad than Citeh do.

Actually he knows exactly who is going to start the first game...according to his hairdresser's nephew's binman's best mate's brother-in-law twice removed (who posts on bluemoon).

Sorry chaps, popped out for an hour...sometimes (only sometimes) I find something more exciting to do than wait for a reply!

You beat us twice last season because you played well and we didn't...simple as. Also because of Moyes' time-wasting tactics ;) (good right-hook Mancini).

I can't defend the dealings of my club behind the scenes because I don't know what goes on...same as you don't. That's what I was trying to get across before though...just because you read something in the paper doesn't make it true and it's frustrating to hear people ****ging us off for things that are quoteless tripe from the Daily Mirror or whatever your tabloid of choice is.

Gary, most Evertonians aren't bitter that Man City have developed bigger pockets (there might be some envy though and aside from the whole Lescott saga which may have left some bitterness), most Evertonians just don't like the way most Man City fans are running around acting like they are a big club already...

You may have the money, but until you achieve something with that money, then you can't claim to be a big club...we just don't like the way some of your supporters are boasting when nothing has been achieved.

Imagine if you don't actually achieve anything, most man city supporters are going to look like fools for jumping the gun and assuming things (similar to Newcastle fans)

Honestly, you have the potential to be a big club now with all the money, but it is not guaranteed until the results come.

So until then, yes, you are classified as a "Small club, with big money and potential to be a big club"...

Man City's path is still uncertain. It could end up as a Big Club or a Small Club that aimed high and didn't deliver.

So basically in summary, what I'm trying to say is earn respect and honour, don't demand it. Or else you look like spoilt rich brats that are acting better than everyone else because daddy has a lot of money that he spends on them...

Comprender?

Rant over.

It's all going to come down to whether or not Mancini (or another manager) can get them to play together as a team. If he can do that, then Man City has every chance of challenging for honors. If not, then it'll be a bust and they'll keep throwing money at the problem until it either gets fixed or the owners get bored and move on.

At any rate, I don't have a problem with City or their fans. I had a problem with Lescott and how he handled himself and yeah, City could have acted a bit better but in the end, we were paid 24M for Joleon.

thorny - me no comprenderer - man city a small club! get real mate- compared to who? man u, the biggest in the world or barcelona man city are a massive club, its like some knobhead over the park calling us small- a joke isnt it! the top 8 last season are all big clubs but man city now have serious money to challenge for the league- btw to me chelsea are a small club its just that they bought big

ok i should have clarified how small and how big...when i say small, i don't mean blackpool etc

man city have only just entered the top 8 in recent times, there's clubs like Fulham season before or Blackburn, Bolton or even Reading who have finished top 8...

you have to look at history, consistency and other things invloved when you say "big" or "small"...

and i'm just refuting the claim of most man city supporters thinking they are big, and when they say big they mean big like man u or barcelona or real madrid...

but they're not even close to being that big. not until they have something to show for apart from money in the bank.

It won't surprise me to see Man City win a trophy in the next couple of years, but as someone previously mentioned, it was paid for by the Sheikh. A hollow victory.

At least the potential was there with Chelsea and they'd played CL before Abramovich came in. Before the Arabs took over City, finishing top 10 was considered an achievement for them.

Garry needs to get his a*se on here and explain this one away..

Big players 'want to join' City do they?

"So, Mario load of Balotelli, tell me, what was it that first attracted you to the Billionaires of Manchester City?"

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/aug/05/mario-balotelli-manchester-city

And to think this is a player who is quite keen to get away from the racist chants in his native Italy.. he still places a high price on his services.

Manchester City's latest attempts to finalise the £25m signing of Mario Balotelli have stalled once again, with the Italian forward reluctant to lower his salary demands of £180,000 a week.

While City are happy to make Balotelli one of their highest earners, the most powerful spenders in the Premier League believe what he is asking for is exorbitant.

The problems stems largely from the fact City have found it difficult to reach a compromise with the player's agent, Mina Raiola, who is increasingly becoming a source of frustration at Eastlands.

The transfer has also been complicated because of City's differences with Internazionale about performance-related add-on fees, and the two clubs will reconvene talks in the coming days.

Balotelli is a massive cretin though, yes he should not be racially abused but as a public persona he comes across as deserving 100% of the abuse his own fans aim at him.

Stability in the top division is also something you haven't had for a while as well.

Citeh are a big club though, it would be incorrect to claim otherwise, an unsuccessful one but big all the same.
