I agree but you will find the reason they do it is because they can charge more for asmdvertising slots and the game is easier to sell worldwide than say us vs Southampton

Not that at all though. I know the finances make sense but for equality they shouldn't be able to do it. Like Everton Chelsea is a better tie than Swansea united for a neutral even without blue tinted glasses I can see that!!

If the additional matches leave us with tired legs, or god forbid injuries to key contributors for League, FA Cup, or Europa matches I'd rather do without them. Winning this cup would do nothing to take away from my anguish if the additional matches led to a disappointing result elsewhere.

I think you're very much in the minority. This club is dying out for a trophy. Any trophy.

Come on mate,extra games now mean nothing in bearing on games in months ahead,its almost like saying having a winter break in jan would help england in july-then they go out 1st game etc to then blame not having a winter break/played to many games and so on,plus we dont need extra games to lead to a disappointing results elsewhere,this is EVERTON dont forget lol,i want to win all we can,not that we will like but its almost like saying give up before we start which i could not do or want from them as bad as they are sometimes

Not quite my meaning.

For example, We play @brighton Sunday 10/15, followed by a Thu 10/19 Vs Lyon, and then Host Arsenal 3 days later.

Instead of having a week to prepare for our next 3 games over a week: Sun 10/29 @Leicester, Thu 11/2 @lyon, Sun 11/5 Vs Watford; we now have another matchup to contend with right smack in the middle of what should be that sorely needed week off. Against Chelsea no less.

Knowing first hand, from the start of our season how important momentum is; I personally would rather do without that matchup as I feel that the potential to win that piece of silverware is not worth the potential damage it could do to a run of fixtures that may prove critical to our performance in more important competitions.

Yeah, I get that but we're not playing Southampton. We're playing the current Champions.

The reality is, we could be playing Barça or Madrid and Utd playing Cammell Laird FC and they'd be on telly

I'd be interested to see whether the RS clobber Leicester City this weekend to follow up after the embarrassment this week.. I may give us a chance against Chelsea in this cup if so.

We havent won a trophy for 22 years. I would leave my wife if it meant winning the league cup
