League of Ireland 2025

Have to say, I’ve been going to LOI games for about 9/10 years now, amazing experience and couldn’t recommend it enough for any Irish who only watch PL.

One thing that always irked me about it was I never felt as down when Rovers lose as when Everton lose but I have one man to thank for that starting to change, and that’s Damien Duff.

He’s absolutely doing my head in with his antics and was the villain I needed in order to start become genuinely pissed off when Shels get one over on Rovers.

Of course the Bohs derby is special, biggest derby in Ireland. But I will get a lot of satisfaction if Rovers can get a result or two against Shels for the rest of this season
Funny enough I don't mind Duffer, at least he's passionate but I get your meaning.

There used to be real needle in the 70s and 80s, and I believe worse in previous decades when they were still both essentially Ringsend DNA.

Agree with you on LOI v EPL in terms of proper football experience.

I was at the Arsenal game and I just couldn't get passionate about the dirge on the pitch. At least Everton tried a bit while arsenal killed and slowed the game down at every chance.

Most memorable was the applause for Super Kev - a true passionate Blue.

I’ve got really interested in the LOI over the last year or so. The atmosphere at most matches looks great. Love the rivalries and the old school stadiums, although have to say the tallaght stadium is very impressive and should be the benchmark for other clubs to follow.

Although I’m from up north and have always looked out for Derry city’s fortunes, I’m edging towards st pat’s these days. Something about Richmond park, their history etc. Great to see the league is thriving. Just need to improve some of the stadiums. Surely more money could have been made available to other clubs, not just bohs and Sligo rovers.
