It's the whole thing of Leeds players running straight through our midfield that worries me more tbh

Can't do a 2-man midfield of Doucoure and Allan against these I don't think mate.
I mean, fair enough Doucoure and Gomes somehow managed it last year but they'll have the crowd on their backs this time, and for all his faults (on the pitch, like) Gyfli was man-marking Phillips too.
Ideal world Gbamin in alongside Doucoure and Allan but he probably can't be thrown into this game from the off. Davies for me, sitting alongside Allan with Doucoure giving a bit of freedom to push on.

I was thinking we do a Leeds in that we just play to our strengths and ignore whatever the opposition are doing.
Actually I think the first 45 minutes at Elland Rd last year was the best we played all season. Was a cracking game of football.
Maybe but I honestly don't thin a 2-man midfield is our strength.
Allan got better as the game wore on last week (he always does, starts out looking like me trying to play and by full time he's like a dodgy Gana rip off) but I just don't think it allows Doucoure (or Allan, tbf) to do what they're both best at in a 2-man midfield.
Three-man midfield would mean playing Rich wide though so I suppose that's the tough one. I mean, it shouldn't have to mean he plays wide, but it would do cause it's Benitez.
Agree on the last point. When CA got it right he got it right, I always said that much even when I was wanting better from him. He just got it wrong a lot as well.
I’m wary about this one. They haven’t been great in pre season or at old Trafford but will be up for it at bell-end road with the fans. Can’t give them anything early doors as it will be far harder than Southampton to turn it around if we go behind.

Will probably be Gbamin/Davies in for Gray but don’t really see that being very effective tbh.
I think Gray's exactly who you want running at Leeds tbf. But again, it's that midfield balance that worries me. And if you just have Gray tracking ball game, then what's the point?
Tricky one.
Still think we'll lose. Would of course make my summer to be wrong.
