Leicester-The Worst Reigning Champions Ever?

I can't recall the timing of his appointment (was it close season?), but I'm pretty sure they weren't on such a downward trajectory as they are right now. Ranieri has worn the look of a beaten man for weeks now. You can tell he does not know how to resolve the situation.

I just don't think it's as simple as saying 'well he won the league with them, so he can get them out of relegation no problem. Personnel have changed, players have aged, veins of form have come and gone. They're a shadow of their former selves.
It does look like a downward spiral but they had an ok result in Europe and the rs up next. They play the kind of game that could have taken something from that. There has to be more to this, some sort of player revolt. Either way, it's a huge gamble, the best they can hope for is to avoid the drop, they'll have lost most of the good will they built up last season.

Absolute gold from that lizard...

...the man who helped get Joe Royle the sack.

You couldn't make that up.

Imagine if he'd gone to Arsenal the pigeon faced beaut lol lol lol

He's the embodiment of how a player can have half a decent season (with the aid of refs turning a blind eye to his diving and stamping) and pull the wool over the whole football industry.

England caps and links with a top four club. Unreal. get back to the ale house league you rat faced scumbag.

Vardy unrepentant on hearing the news tonight ...

It's terrible they've sacked him but when you look at it from a business perspective and detach emotion from it I think it will work out to be a decent decision for them. Given their terrible league form i would back someone like pearson to get them out of relegation more than i would Ranieri... that's not to say i think he's a better manager, i just think he'd be better suited to that job.

You have to look at it from a purely business point of view of 'will we have better chance of staying up with or without him'... and i reckon the board and also their fans believe 'without' is the better option.

It's brutal, but these decisions have to be made when such huge money is on the line... no room for sentiment any more, those days are long gone.
