If we wanted to avoid this situation we could have named the price for both and gave a deadline for the deals to be completed. Told them that we wouldn't budge from either and not to waste our time with anything else.

That way the club would know exactly where they stand and we'd have left ourselves more time, and a bigger market, to get replacements in, if needed.

Man Utd have acted shoddy but we could have handled ourselves much, much better. Bill's desperation to get money in has cost our club again in reputation and pride.

Kenwright needs to be careful

The fan base on the whole hasn't turned on him yet, but if Baines and Felli are both sold for magic beans, a lot of previous fans who were on the fence might turn

For that reason, I think he will sell Felli to line his pockets and then try and keep Baines to ensure the fans don't riot

I can't see them suddenly offering £36m for just him, so soon after offering what £28m for both ???

Be great if it was true, but going from bidding £28m for the pair to £36m for just Felli, its a little bit hard to believe.
