Yes I have just seen this, I think it's just United spreading rumours trying not lose face at the fact they had to pay the extra 4M.

Everton have no reason to lie, because lets face it, its better for Bill to say we sold him for 23.5 Mill and deny all knowledge of that four million.

if Man Utd paid 27.5, they paid 27.5m and thats the transfer fee. Any bonuses or clauses would have kicked in anyway regardless, and dealt with on their own terms, as is the case in every transfer.

Hard to know which version is true, and I don't suppose it makes any difference, either way.

What I'd like know is whether Standard were paid any sell on fee. It was reported that that Felli's transfer request removed
that part of the deal. Does anyone know the truth of it?
