Being brave, believing in your ability and having the quality to keep the ball is vital at places like Old Trafford and Baines is still a little maestro of interplay with team mates. i believe we improved for his introduction.

To come on and perform like that really is an indication that he’s a top professional, training hard every day to get his opportunity. I like him lots.

Up against James who is probably the quickest player in the league as well. He only got caught in behind once that I can remember.

I thought he did about as well as could be expected. Very solid effort.
 

Baines did well I agree but a couple of notes of caution. He is 35 and we now have a midweek game to contend with as well. Also last season Jagielka stepped in against Arsenal was very good then followed it up with a stinker. Hopefully Digne is available for at least one of these games. I just don't think Baines will manage all 3 and the prospect of Cuco is very much on the horizon!

Baines is massively superior to jagielka as a footballer
