Alot of them would get in ahead of Baines others would push him very close in my opinion

Was possibly the best in the league some years back but that is a distance memory. Honest player but who was very poor at the start of season. Improved and is probally where we are 7th best at the most in the league. I wanted us to bring in some serious competition last summer for him. Badly needed this summer althoug other positons are more important now. Holgate might make a fine center half but is nowhere good enough right back and coleman will be out most of next season
..I gave him MoM as best of a bad bunch but that's a very valid point, Tim.
I know great, like all of them, is a relative term but we have wildly different views of greatness if you include Aaron Cresswell on that list.

As i have said before , Baines has always been lacking defensively imo
...actually think it's Barry who didn't get close enough, Tim.
Not saying i want him but all on that list would push Baines for his place as our first choice left back

With Baines getting old, we've lost that spark down the left. Every time he gets the ball, he either goes sideways or back to Williams.
When you don't play with wingers, you need a left back bombing forward, taking players on. He doesn't offer that anymore.
