and not a KopiteI pretty much agree, but being banal and lacking incisiveness are pretty much mandatory requirements for football pundits these days, so he'll probably make a decent living out of it.
He's not thick by the way.

Ermmmm.......and not a Kopite
He is a absolute legend for us. A very under-rated player. Not the best with his opinions in all honesty.
Beautiful thatNo he's not a legend at all. A mediocre player who struggled to shine in a sea of turds.
No doubt he'll be there grassing on people as always. Kopite mutant.
That's true of most pundits and commentators in football. Townsend, Owen, (Phil) Neville, Redknapp, all are terrible pundits, but somehow keep getting invited back. Not a single insightful comment in their careers.Listening to him in the media - he comes across as banal and a bit thick.
I've yet to hear one incisive comment. The organisations that hire him for comment are going to realise that shortly and he'll be back here scraping around looking for an Echo weekly column.
I've seen a lot worse players get hero status the last 20 years..... I thought we always looked a much better team when he played.... Don't understand the hate.
He's even boring when he talks about Everton. He spent about 15 years there and cant make an informed comment on the club. That's true of most pundits and commentators in football. Told the nation on Five Live we didn't need Schneiderlin in Jan,and we had enough centre midfielders. He's a rat muzzied beaut who was lucky to make a living out the club.Listening to him in the media - he comes across as banal and a bit thick.

I take it back. He's very astute.Told the nation on Five Live we didn't need Schneiderlin in Jan,and we had enough centre midfielders. He's a rat muzzied beaut who was lucky to make a living out the club.
