He's not injury prone. He's had 2 injuries in his career. He had a groin injury in 2010 and he had an operation on his meniscus this season.

Eredivisie season is 34 games.

Eredivisie stats:
2007/08 Feyenoord 13 1 Eredivisie
2008/09 Feyenoord 32 6 Eredivisie
2009/10 Feyenoord 31 2 Eredivisie
2010/11 Feyenoord 23 3 Eredivisie
2011/12 Feyenoord 4 2 Eredivisie
2011/12 FC Twente 26 8 Eredivisie
2012/13 FC Twente 12 3 Eredivisie
Total: 141 25

Phew.

I reckon, that certainly at the start, IF he plays, I can see a midfield of

................................Fer

Pienaar.........Fellaini...........Gibson...........Mirrallas

I'm not sure he would give him the responsibility of the defensive role immediatley, and Fellaini can support with Gibson covering, and also help to mop up any mistakes. This would help him build confidence, then maybe drop into the defensive role, potentially giving us 3 VERY strong DM's and good options right through the middle. Osman, a returning confident Barkley, Oviedo covering for Mirrallas to move into the AM role, and we have a very strong and fluid midfield, with all positions covered for a number of different approaches/styles.

This move could be a masterstroke by Moyes.

My head has just exploded.

I'm very happy about this, but i still think it's baffling that we're signing a central midfielder. Is right wing not our most important position to reinforce.

Centre Mid: Gibson, Osman, Fellaini, Neville, Hitzlesperger, in a pinch Pienaar or Heitinga.

Right mid: Naismith, Gueye, Big Vic (but he won't stay out wide), and Kevin "hammies" Mirallas.

Thing that stands out in the videoes is how fast he is. He is tall, strong, young, good in the air, great touch, two good feet, attack minded, and can tackle. How can you not be excited?! It is exactly what we need.

36 starts and 11 subs in one and a half seasons mate. He had a knee injury in the autumn of 2012 but aside from that ESPN shows him playing regularly.
Just reading what was up on the Twente forum mate. It was only one or two guys who said that, sounded mostly like sour grapes anyway. His game is physicality after all. I'm just irrationally terrified of another Mirallas type player with loads of talent who can't get on the pitch.

Yeah but Gibson and Mirallas are both crocks. How many games will they really be starting together?

At least this signing gives us more options, along with Oviedo, Anichebe when he is in the right mood, Osman, et cetera.

Can't believe ppl are saying CM isn't a pressing need after watching Neville play there in half our games this year.

Mirallas ain't a crock. He had a hamstring injury and then another small injury against Bolton. Chill your bean.

New signing doesn't mean neville's gonna see the bench. We also have a german international central midfielder that Neville's keeping out of the team.
