Is it right that his Dad supports Everton ?
Didi Hamann just, said he was a bit 'meh' on 5 live when asked.
No great loss here.
yes of course our position has to be 'he is ****e anyway' - the opposing, possibly equally valid view is that this was yet another failure by the board to secure quality players. The fact is no one could have predicted how good Gibson or Mirallas would be when they signed - what would you have said had Mirallas chosen to sign for Spurs or Arsenal in the summer?
The true barometer is, I think, the long term deals handed out to the existing playing staff, including the baffling decision to hand a 5 year contract to a 30 year old player. The strategy becomes clear of course when one takes the position that the club due to mismanagement is completely unable to sign players such as Forren or Holtby for love nor money and is forced to parade exisitng players as if they had just been signed.
Regarding the bolded bit, how do you know that we were even interested in him? The only links I have seen with us and him is due to his dad.
im less concerned with holtby as a player as opposed to other evidence which supports the fact that the board has let us down - moyes openly saying he is only going for loans only, the contract extensions to old players, the failure to match our nearest challengers in squad development etc. etc. i dont think arguments such 'he is **** anyway' are helpful in understanding our position.
But that argument is what the Board thread is for, no point in going on about it in threads about random players. If we did that the forum would get very boring very quickly
Can this thread be shot out of a cannon into the sun now?
