Life Changing Job

Status
Not open for further replies.

After ten years freelancing I have decided to seriously quit and move into a permanent role with a Marketing agency. I obviously need to get through the interview first, but apparently I have a great chance. It's between me and this girl, who apparently wants more money and is based in Warrington which is further than I have to travel.

I've never wanted a job so much, even when I interviewed at Everton I didn't want it as much as I want this one.

The date for the interview keeps getting put back and back, so the more it gets moved the more nervous I am getting.

Any tips?

Make sure you dont want a sh*t before you go in for your all important interview . Needing a wee is bearable but needing a turd is akin to playing Russian Roulette with your fake Farah pants

Walk straight in to the interview room before they call you.

Kick their computer off the table.

Place your laptop down and say, 'now listen up you C**ts'.

Play it cool, calm and collected. Speak coherently and be yourself. Ask them a couple of questions.

Good luck!(y)

Mmm. It's a big change in attitude going from being self-employed to working directly for someone again.

I think the self-confidence, quick decision-making and other loner attributes anybody needs to run their own business successfully could come over as arrogance, pigheadedness and lack of other "team" qualities, if not toned down a little (I speak from my own experience, not related to you!).

And, of course, the likeliest question:

So you ran your own business for 10 years. Why do you want to work for someone else again? And why do you think you would be successful making that transition?
