Very very good.Certainly not when Peter Gabriel was still in the band.

Don't you worry will be the same gods that made other life elswhere it's all part of the the great plan...I will vote for anything that stops religion , it's responsible for more wars and deaths than any thing else.
I know what you mean but I think greed and hunger for power are really responsible for most of the terrible things in this world. Those in/looking for power just use religion as an excuse/incentive.I will vote for anything that stops religion , it's responsible for more wars and deaths than any thing else.
It's curiosity. We have learned so much science, by better understanding the cosmos, that have everyday applications that have benefitted humanity.I don't understand why humans waste their time looking so far in to space. Even if we found undeniable evidence there's another planet out there with life as advanced as ours, this planet is 700 trillion miles away. We could never communicate with them and we could never travel there. There would be absolutely no benefit to knowing there's anything out there.
Instead of spending all that money on looking in to space, spend it on something useful that could benefit people on earth.
I’d recommend Richard DawkinsHave you watched "Ancient aliens " it goes on to show that the bible is exactly that ,I too don't believe in Christ , I think the world as we know it is one heck of a stretch even for Darwin and that something is responsible but not one of us .
Exactly. And let's be honest, when did religion ever hurt anyone?People believe and take comfort in lots of things.
As long is it's not hurting anybody then good for them I suppose.
I'm trying to keep my true opinions to myself for once here!Exactly. And let's be honest, when did religion ever hurt anyone?
Obviously I'm not saying there's no benefit to knowledge in general but what benefit is there in knowing there mh be life 700 trillion miles away? How can we use that knowledge to benefit mankind? There is no benefit to knowledge?
How will the knowledge of a planet 700 trillion miles away benefit humanity? It's curiosity. We have learned so much science, by better understanding the cosmos, that have everyday applications that have benefitted humanity.
How will the knowledge of a planet 700 trillion miles away benefit humanity?
It will satisfy the eternal question - are we alone? Is earth unique in a vast cosmos. If we know that life is present elsewhere we might consider a more all encompassing view of the cosmos. We might one day find technologies that make traversing vast distances a breeze. This would give us scope to share medical knowledge, arts, philosophy and science, or just fascinating new stories and literature. It gives hope. It gives a motivation for humanity to come together and think about who we are and how we should present ourselves - the last time we came close to this was with Carl Sagan. It gives jeopardy too, that extra terrestrial life might be like modern day US - motivated by selfish ambition, greed and violence. In that, we are improved by considering better defence against any aliens who might look upon earth as Columbus looked upon his new found land. How will the knowledge of a planet 700 trillion miles away benefit humanity?
It could give us more understanding on life, biology and what is possible etc.Obviously I'm not saying there's no benefit to knowledge in general but what benefit is there in knowing there mh be life 700 trillion miles away? How can we use that knowledge to benefit mankind?
Would open loads more options on tinder too...It will satisfy the eternal question - are we alone? Is earth unique in a vast cosmos. now there's a show that needs deleting from history. It could give us more understanding on life, biology and what is possible etc.
Not every piece of knowledge is beneficial straight away but it can all lead to a bigger picture.
Didn't the whole discovery of the big bang (theory) come from a couple of blokes messing around with seemingly useless radio waves?
