Amnesia can be tough.

Claim's never to have played for Everton.
“I was only on Merseyside a short time, nine or 10 months in total really, but it was still a happy time personally, while professionally it was one of the most successful periods of my career,” he says.

“I still have an affinity towards Everton.

“Why don’t I talk about them more often? I do my best, but I’m a presenter rather than a pundit so I have to try and be more objective than some other people!

“But I still try and do it in more subtle ways, and I do try to have a dig at Hansen and Lawrenson whenever I can.

“There’s no doubt at all that Everton was the best team I ever played in."

Could have swore he said 'club side', as he does hold a candle for Robson's England and those days in 90.

Exactly, it is a very lazy criticism when it has been proven time and time again, that he has talked about being at Everton and how he liked it, along with saying it was the best team he has played with.

Listened to an informal style interview recently and he came across as a really decent guy. Also mentioned Everton there as well.

I don't think you ever really know someone who you haven't interreacted with personally but from what I know of him (both personal and politics) I like him.

I think it would have been very easy for him to ignore the refugee situation for instance but he has chosen to take a very public stand, including refugees in his own house, which I admire.

And his legs, well thought Gazza had it right!
'You know what I liked about him, his body. What a lovely body. Unbelievable, it was so smooth I fancied him. Honestly I really did. I used to see him getting a massage after the game and I thought wow, he’s beautiful. Against Holland in the World Cup, it was hot that day and he worked so hard for the team. He lost 12lbs that day. He worked really hard. And he is a really good lad. I used to leave training early and park my car in his space, so he had to park his car on the road and get a ticket. Terry Venables used to tell me ‘stop parking in his driveway’. What a striker.'

There are quite a few football fans who seem to equate a lack of constant praise with contempt and criticism. It's wildly insecure.
