is it just me or are these live earth concerts a bit weird. Becouse what are the carbon foot prints of each concert and the carbon produced by each person to get to the concerts.

dont get me wrong i agree that things need to change but getting jet setting pop stars and alike to premote being green is just strange.

take madonna she will probably do a world tour next year. so how is she going to get around the world. by bycycle i think not, on a f***ing massive jet yes. so were is the point in these people tell everyone else to be green and watch there cabon footprint?

and they want me to watch it all day on my carbon eating tv ALL DAY!

I'm planning on pulling a huge two ton trailer with a big banner that's says SAVE THE PLANET all round the world in a humvee that does 4 miles to the gallon.

I think that will really get the message across.

I'm also excepting donations for a plan to burn, huge swathes of the brazilian rainforest, so that from satellite it spells out the words, REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT AND HELP SAVE THE PLANET.

I think that will really help awareness of these issues.

Of course I can't do this because I'm not a celebrity.

bastards bastards bastards.

sorry guys. need to rant some more about this.

When advertising agenices try to get people to do something, they show a celebrity or someone famous or someone that's important to that group doing that activity - to reinforce the message.

what this is sending out is the opposite. They say its about awareness. Give me a [Poor language removed] break. Has anyone in the western world not heard of global warming? Its bullshit! What's missing is action. Curbing your carbon footprint. Using low energy lightbulbs, recycling, cycling to work whatever.

A bunch of celebrities jetting all over the world saying, "do as we tell you, not as WE do (because we are rich famous musicians and therefore a class of people akin to royalty -whereby the normal rules do not apply - they just apply to you, the unwashed masses of the world, who are ruining the planet.) and we can save the planet."

-its all excuse for them to push their careers and the promoters pepsi [Poor language removed] cola.

[Poor language removed] them. Turn your tv on, leave it on when you go out. Set fire to something. Drive a tank. Eat whales. Turn the heating on in summer, leave the windows open and drink cold beers by the fridge with the door open to counteract the central heating. Then (if you have the dough) go round the world...for the weekend.

maybe we'll [Poor language removed] the world, but at least we'll [Poor language removed] it for those hypocritical worms as well.

The only thing this concert has made me AWARE of, is that these self righteous shites think they are better than everyone else and beyond criticism. And they have no [Poor language removed] intelligence whatsoever.

Improve the worlds carbon footprint by burning all your david gray and snow patrol records - or failiing that david gray and snow patrol.

that'll stop the [Poor language removed] touring.

has this one been put together by geldof as well?

any chance of a vbet on whats next...

live guns amnesty

live girth (the battle of the bulge)

live ego

live advertising

hows about all this effort goes into forcing some government action on big companies like 'ici', 'unilever', or the devils spawn that is 'glaxo smith klein'.

john prescott still riding around in two jags? is cameron still being followed around on his bicycle by 2 cars full of minders?

my money is on 'live arse' the battle to stop flatulence.

Throwing money blindly (which is what we have done for so long) won't acheive anything either.

I honestly think things like energy saving (anything) should be heavily subsidised by the government and that new and stricter energy consumption laws should exist too.

I love those hydrogen buses and cars, I want one!
I love the fact that the only thing they give out is oxygen (right? the programme was in Japanese so forgive me if I got the wrong end of the stick)

hmm... I read that bruce and I don't quite get what it means...

the person that uses hardly any electricity would have loads of negawatts....

help!

Well I gave my usual donation of [Poor language removed] all. Hey I remember Ethiopia in 85 and guess what, [Poor language removed] all has changed. Oh and is there a mega rich man in that nation? Maybe he should try and save his own people.

Ironically Geldoff critisized these shows as a waste of time. I guess he'd know. Neither LiveAid or this will achieve anything.

Its this ludicrous idea, that awareness is key. Once everyone knows about it, problem solved. Well everyone does know about global warming, carbon footprints, recycling, reducing emissions.

Same way everyone knows about CND - but there is nuclear proliferation. Everyone knows about AIDS - but it is still spreading. Everyone knows Bush is a [Poor language removed] retard - he still president of the USA.

the majority of people aren't doing much about it - and judging by these sanctimonious so called musicians, they are doing even less. A concert to promote awareness - of their music/careers/altruistic personalities, not global warming.

They'll be straight on their gulf stream jets to one of their many homes in the carribean after the festival, sipping champagne at a party telling everyone how important the environment is.

If you want to help the environment make sure you don't buy any of the records, of the artist featured on Live Earth - it'll only fuel their lavish planet destroying lifestyles.

I don't know why they thought LiveAid would do any good. Farm subsidies are the key and we still have them now and the Doha trade talks look no nearer any kind of resolution on them.

The bits in bold. Made. Me. Piss. Myself. Laughing.

Post of the week.

I'm always a little humourous when I'm on a rant. It used to amaze my ex, shouting at the TV - but then yeah..she's my ex, so it obviously wasn't as entertaining as i thought it was.

but ta anyway. I recommend the blue whale sushi.
