If we bought an enabled a feature that allowed match threads to be "live", meaning replies load real time without you loading the page - would this be something that would improve the forum or would you all cry arse over change?

Not for me. A static image holds the attention and allows one to appreciate the insight, nuance and understanding that is presented. A scroll just encourages skim reading and only rewards soundbites.
