"Live" Threads

Hi all,

I've just made a change to the Everton forum which now allows posts to appear in a thread without any need to refresh.

So, as your viewing threads, posts will appear real time.

I figure it will be particularly useful on match days.

We're trialing it - feedback welcome here.

Not convinced tbh Dan. Start a post, then, wham, not sure where you are. Probably get used to it. Like you say, its only when a goal goes in, or a stupid bid in the transfer window I guess.

Keeps skipping back to page 1 for me.

"thread tools" at the top, disable page jump.

I can disable it universally.

I've disabled for the time being.

Some meddling needed I think.

Sounds good in theory, but it causes confusion when there's loads of posts suddenly and difficult to track where your up to.

I was going to ask if there was a problem with the board. I only tend to read the match day thread at half time, so I read the last few pages, it seems every time someone adds a new message it attempts to scroll down to the last message, this happens regardless of you being on the last page or not. A black box briefly appears in the top right hand corner and then it scrolls to the bottom of the page.

I did notice at one point i was seeing "live" posts from someone i've got on ignore so that might be a bug as well.
