It may have been an off night but losing derbies is never good. Its almost like the players realised they were well in the game and then the pressure got to them.
It never is, you’re right, but I’m, in a weird way, a lot calmer about losing tonight than say after the Origi game, or the 5-2 under Silva

A fit Ndiaye and McNeil instead of Harrison and Doucoure, and there’s a chance we nick that game with the opportunities which opened up on the break. The amount of times those two murdered promising situations was staggering. Please fire both into orbit.

It took yet another scabby goal which should never have stood to beat us. Just brushed aside cos it’s them. Had that goal been scored the other end, we all know how it would’ve been forensically picked apart and ruled out.

Crap rule. How does the defender with his back to them and to the other defenders know if they are offside? If Tarks had let it go through then it doesn’t end up as a goal, but you play to the whistle, so have to expect that play continues and intercept.
I also think its a crap rule, the crapness is born out in the goal salad scored a few years ago when he was 10 yards behind the defender (cant remember who) who jumped to head it, as he knew Sarah was there, got a touch off the top of his head direct to salah who then went on to score. Utter abomination of a rule that can be bent to suit the narrative.

Sickner. As far as derby performances go, it wasn’t our best, but far from our worst, compared to some away derbies I’ve seen (sadly in the flesh for one or two). We ourselves certainly still have work to do going forward with the team. Harrison and Doucoure, well I’m not gutted that they won’t, presumably, be here next season. Two guys who put themselves about and get involved in the game, but good heavens, lacked a lot of quality with the ball tonight in good positions.
I think going forward will improve as Ndiaye, McNeill, Broja and Charley all start fighting for a start.

Don't even know the offside rule anymore. Dont understand most of the rules now. The game is gone. I watch Everton and that’s it because it's crap compared to what it used to be like.

I'm fairly calm too. Its frustrating that they didn't have to play well to beat us. But in the grand scheme of things, this game won't matter very much.

The important thing is learning and making changes from it. It showed we lack quality in attack and I also believe the team lacked the belief they could win. We need to change that over the summer.

So bored of us being beaten before we even get on the pitch at their ground.

Mentality has to change at the club.

I actually thought the mentality weren't that bad tonight. We stood up to what they had in general and you can see the players gave it a go. They're just nowhere near good enough. Sadly, even if we have a couple of good transfer windows they still won't be good enough for nights like this, but we do need to get the process rolling of getting shut of the likes of Harrison.
