It's his job to hold shots that come straight at him. Yes it was hit with pace, and yes the defenders should have cleared it after Howard failed to hold it, but as a keeper I'd have been disappointed not to hold onto it.

I don't think howard could of held that shot, but saying that he could of kicked it to the left after the save instead of trying the grab it. Which caused the poor clearance for the goal. I would say it is 50/50 his and the defences fault for the goal

aye, think he could have done better getting it away. Mind you we were wide open and let them get their shot off with ease. We're neither playing ultra defensively and keeping things tight or being an offensive threat. The joys of watching us against them...

You seem awfully defensive Bill, Howard failed to perform his duty as a goalkeeper, the primary reason he's in the team, which makes it his fault.

Personally though, I'm more pissed that it got to that point. Fellaini should have played Straq in with a simple 5 yard pass and didn't, for absolutely no reason I could see.

I wouldn't say fantastic. But he's been decent. And you know how I feel about Rodwell.

Great saving tackle, but aside from that he is such a passive player at the moment, he needs to drive at the defense, make something happen. Just looks like he plays within himself, sideways passes etc.
