You'd be surprised how many LGBTQ friendly bars in America have Eurovision watch parties (it streams live over here so it's an all day event) and they really get into it. Honestly it sound like a brilliant time and I think it would be fun to go to one as an ally if they would have us.

It`s one of the biggest LGBTQ events globally mate.

Not really into and wont watch it, but if people are out enjoying it, good luck to them. Each to their own as they say.

It's a big deal, Eurovision. But up here there's been about a 4 week 'celebration' of it so far - and there's a week still to go to the actual event!

You obviously don't listen to Radio 2 then Dave. Been harping on about it for six weeks or more.
Talk about over the top is an understatement.

If a few normal people are getting a few quid out of it then great. Good luck to them.

But there's a disproportionate touting of this event. Liverpool has diminshed itself because of it....and when I say 'Liverpool' I'm talking about the myriad promotional agencies and chamber of commerce who I collectively call 'the spiv sector'.

Well it will ramp up a notch from this weekend so I'm told.
The promise that Liverpool will be turned into a sea of pink will be interesting to observe.
