I’m one of the unfortunate going. Never been to derby at Anfield. Are the pubs around Goodison full of blues before the game/is that best area to have a drink before going to the game? Need to get myself in a state that I don’t remember the pending battering

Try any (or even better all) of these ....Winslow, The Brick, Harlech Castle, The Oak, Clock, Thomas Frost or Crofts....you'll be in a state alright if you're on the lemo as well. Enjoy!

This for me is the worst derby coming up that we have ever had to face.

Im sure I think that every season. I'm not going to watch it. That's all I can do to help. "Can't believe we beat them and I didn't see it" is my thinking

Are some of you actually being serious in not giving us a chance? I know we’ve had years of misery there but I never go into a Derby thinking we have no chance. Their RB is probably one of their best providers and is not the best defensively. We can get at them down that side. Bernard must start this game. Kean starting will give them something to think about, pace and movement, Richy in support. I honestly think there’s something in this for us. They’ve been grinding out games recently,their front 3 haven’t been at heir best and their keeper is dodgy. Come on Blue boys. Make it happen.

I reckon we can take them... They fell to pieces against the mighty Brighton and cannot buy a clean sheet at any price. Also their front three are not on top form and their most influential player this season, Fabinho is out injured. This reminds me of the 69-70 season when we won the league but they trounced us 0-3 at our place, and then we won 2-0 over there in the title run in. We may not have a better chance to get a famous victory and turn those believers into doubters!!

I remember going to the pit in 1964, we had 9 players playing who would not normally have been first choice, it was just after the infamous ‘purple hearts’ story had been invented by Albert Dunlop (our old goalie for those of you too young.) and we were expected to be on the wrong end of a terrible mauling.

Well Derek Temple opened the scoring for us in the first minute and we went on to batter our lovely neighbours 4:0

That was the last time we were as nailed on for a hammering at the pit as we are on Wednesday, unfortunately, with our present squad of bottlers, I think we will get battered.

We are currently working on this flag for Wednesday's Merseyside Derby. It will be 12ft x 5ft and our colleague @PeterJMacca will be taking it into the @everton end, hoping for a red to hold the red side from across the cordon.
