I posted this back in November 2017:
Consistent poor to shocking performances featuring lack of cohesion and basic passing skills. Little to no defending, poor attacking, no closing down, no fight, no care. You can pass some of that off to a manager's poor tactics (be it Martinez, Koeman or Unsworth) etc, but not the no fight, no care. No way!
Time after time we have heard how these players are good players, that its just how they have been set up badly tactics wise or position-wise. Again, that's true to an extent but in the end, if these players are that good then we would see at least something, but we don't even get the bare minimum effort.
If any worker replicated a similar lack of effort and basic skills in whatever employment or position they held then shouldn't questions be asked? Be it of them, or whoever employed them in the first place? There has to be something given or at least offered in return, or else there should be consequences.
It is very difficult for many real fans to get a genuine, good feeling about this team. This isn't coming from nowhere, its not blind hatred and its not just a small number of fans.
Also we should not attach all the blame to the players. The managers have to shoulder some responsibility here too, along with the board, as a vast portion of the blame should go to the wonderful board.
The board that were going to take us places. Yes, through their endless dithering, in-fighting and general amateur handling of the club's affairs, they may very well take us places we don't want to go.
Its just over 2 years on now and nothing has changed, in fact we have gotten worse. A thought, which at the time, seemed impossible to imagine.
