I honestly wouldn't really mind losing this one as long as it's not a timid, pathetic loss.

I just want to see signs that we can go and compete consistently in big games with the right mindset. Not just try and survive them, but actively compete in them.

I'd prefer seeing that to a complete fluke of a 1-0 win to be honest, as it shows progress as a club.

They should win this, the pressure is all on them - it's a perfect chance for the players to set a marker for where we want to be at in terms of our future ambition.
I want to win.

But to your point, I want to see a team that isn’t scared.

The progress is there, we're good enough to go and get something but if they play at their best and we play at our best, they're still a better team.

But it's a free hit. We've put ourselves in the position to have that.

I'd rather see us dominate the game and lose 1-0 than get battered and fluke a win 1-0.

Because the former is more encouraging for the club long term, whereas the latter is an indication that we have a ceiling.

Until we sign a 20 goal a season forward we'll never be able to consistently compete with the top 6.

We had that in Lukaku but an average defence and midfield.

Now we have a good defence and midfield but pop gun attack.

Imagine a front 3 of:

Lozano Martial Richarlison

You wouldn't fear going to any ground with that sort of attack with the likes of Gyfi, Gomes and someone like Ndombele behind.

Until then give me absolutely any win against the scum as possible.

Why drop Walcott when you think pace will be effective. This game is set up for his pace. Doesn't mean he will play well but I think this would be the wrong game to drop/rest him for.

I'd keep him (Lookman) fresh and let him loose on Newcastle and Watford. 2 games in 4 days.
I wasn’t saying to drop him today. His pace will be needed. I was saying overall he should be dropped for Lookman, just today!

Youd rather us lose but play well rather than win being scrappy?
What a bizarre fan
