Match Thread Liverpool vs Everton, Wed 2nd April 20:00

Rather Alcaraz on the pitch than Doucs but loving the idea of him starting just to set that lot off on the pitch and in the stands. The likes of McAllister, Van Dijk or Robertson would try something snide on him but have no faith in the officials acting on it. If Doucoure starts he needs to be disciplined and not react like that red card he got for the Kane incident which Kane embarrassed himself over
I still like Doucoure... hope he starts

What a wonderful fortnight it has been.

Liverpool dumped out of the Champions League and losing the Final of the Carabao Cup, Slot blaming the wind, the rain, the sun, the Earth, and anything else he could think of. Everton scoring a last-minute equaliser against WH courtesy of JOB to move us another point away from the relegation zone and another point up to the top of the table. Yes, LiVARpool will be "upset" over those two losses which has seen their treble winning season now reduced to just the possibility, albeit a strong one of a League title.

They will be very happy to return to home soil in addition to loving that they will be in the company of their favourite match officials (including their VAR lovers) of the EPL, knowing that any touch from any Everton player on their beloved Salah and Van Disney will be an automatic red card or a penalty, whether the foul occurs in the Everton penalty box or not. VAR and the match officials will just make it so and will spin it in favour of them.

Everton come into this match knowing that the result will not matter one bit. There is no pressure on us to win to avoid relegation, to draw to avoid relegation, and hence we will hound them for 95 minutes, fight for 95 minutes, pressure them for 95 minutes. They, however, will feel a little bit of pressure after Arsenal cut their lead to twelve points while they were losing to Newcastle. They will know that if they lose, their lead could well be single figures after the weekend, which could well also work against us as the Pool loving match officials will also want to keep the lead in double digits.

RT's Starting Eleven...

Pickford
JOB, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko
Patterson, Gueye, Iroegbunam, Garner
Alcarez
Chermiti

Prediction

1-1

My head says 1-1, my heart wants us to SMASH THEM!
You’ve got a cracking heart mate!

Some of their forwards when on form can be very good. Our defence when on form is very good. Our forwards are crap without Ndiaye but still get goals since Moyes came in. Their defence is generally vastly overrated.
As long as the officials aren't a joke as usual, they don't get a spawny goal and we don't miss sitters, we won't lose this game.
On the ball with “ Their defence is vastly overrated” I also worry about the officials especially at Anfield!

We are flying and have confidence. It's also a free hit as we are safe and they have the league locked up.

I'd love to see us have a go and a 2-2 type game up and down the pitch. Perhaps we even steal a winner late, although that's usually been them all season. Salah (Pen) '92 and such

Really looking forward to this though.

(Probably will be 5-0 to them then)
No need for that last line.

Absolute mugs.
£28, is daylight robbery and a disgrace to be honest. It used to be a tenner to these events, you got a meal, a pint, plus an ex player talking at half time. So pint costs let's say a fiver, pie costs around 4 quid in ground, maybe an ex player talks for 10 minutes, is it worth £28? No. £15 would be reasonable. It just strikes me that club is engaged in RS behaviour, exploited fans loyalty. Wouldn't mind if they were serving a proper meal, but just a pie is ridiculous.

A FIVER AND A CHICKEN IN A BASKET IN MY DAY

Mate, that is defeatism... we can get a draw and maybe even a win.
I know where you are coming from, but be positive... not deluded, just positive
Not defeatism - I still expect us to give it a right good go, but have you checked the betting odds lately?

Will be delighted if we come away with any points, and not too disappointed if we don't, is all.
