liverpool's new stadium designs

Oooo... it's 'futuristic', Probably a bad move as that means it will look dated all to soon. The Classical / Traditional design Everton is looking at is a better choise since fads like 'futuristic' tend to come and go.

Not fond of this design... sure it's unique! And I for one hope it stays that way!

Only fun about it is the huge glass windows.. would love to take a class there and have shooting practise at them.

What's the idea with the three big grey things standing out on the sides into the ground? My first thought was that they looked like a big crane ready to scoop the whole building into the air and squash it.... hmm.. might start to look for that button.

the glass corners are just asking to be put through. shame really.

from what i can tell it has two triple tier stands running the length of the pitch and a huge kop. i can see why most reds like it.

imagine a gwladys street with 20,000 seats! the current kop has 12,000 seats so that gives an idea of how big the new one will be.

the design itself i'm not too sure about. at least they did not go for one of those awful bowl designs.

The disadvantage with such huge ends is that someone has to sit at the back, the bigger it is the further away you are.

Besides, it still looks like a coke can gone wrong.

i remember deadly doug at aston villa talking about the holte end when they decided to put seats in ..(things i remember!)... he said that they were going to chop the stand in half and make it 2 tier as people at the back would never see the action at the other end.

it's a good point. imagine trying to follow the action at the far end of the pitch if you are back row in an 18,000 k stand! no thanks! and 35 quid for the pleasure no doubt.

35 quid? you're having a laugh aren't ya?

My bet is the [Poor language removed]'s new stadium will mean the highest priced season ticket in the country and nearer to 50 quid per game.

you know the k league is played in new world cup stadiums and costs a fiver to get in behind the goal and a tenner for the main stand. you see whole families enjoying the match... dad have a few beers in his seat, the kids with mini trumpets, mum eyeing the talent on the pitch.... the whole day out all for the cost of one cramped seat at the back of the kop.

but this is a whole new topic all together.

Yes it is, and the main problem is players wages I believe.

Start a new topic? Football - Business or Sport and which is better.

To be fair I think they've been pretty brave, in the same way we've been brave to make up designs that are very different to the bowl stadiums like manchester and arsenal. Forget who they are for a minute and look at it from a different perspective.

I'm not saying that I love their look, but it is very unique to british football, the same way ours (hopefully) will be.

i thiknk liverpool have went too modern with their plans...although tbh the outside doesnt look bad..however, anyone seen the one drawing for the inside of the stadium?? it looks terrible!
