My first two were for times - 25 years ago, but now do it for to take in the day. Its a fantastic experience, the crowds are unbelievable.

Its the crowds you remember most, certainly don't remember seeing any landmarks except going round cutty sark and that was down to the shear noise from the crowd. Only done it twice myself though hope to give it another crack.

I like running, but find anything above 10k, unless its a trail run, just doesn't do it for me fun wise, I get that it's hard work and takes some effort to do, but for me personally, for whatever reason, it's not something I have ever felt achieving. Not in the sense that I don't feel I could do it, simply I don't want to, a bit weird I know but it has never excited me like a challenge needs to, best of look next week though and well done on the money raising

Tough Mudder is the one for you then.

No one competing against each other ( other than on the very first race of the day ), just 10/12 miles of muddy fun and everyone helps each other out.

They're not really a jog though are they? Long spells stood about waiting to go through the obstacle, with a short jog then between each. I don't run whatsoever and found it fairly easy. Great branding though.

I agree, but they`re great fun and you can make it as hard or as difficult as you want.

It`s a proper money making machine.

The real nutters do the - " Toughest Mudder " - 21 miles, midnight start, equipment needed inc wet suit and head torch, plus a back up of at least two people.

Not for me.

Oh aye, I had a great time doing it and was grateful that it wasn't that hard as I can't run for toffee.

I used to be a club runner. Mainly mountain running but done a few marathons but as soon as I broke 3 hours I didn't run another one. I referred 10k and mountain races but did do a few mountain marathons.

I get the appeal of doing it but I can’t for the life of me understand how anyone can watch it in person or on tv.
