Looks like we won't get relegated this year at least

I have come late into this thread but from a vague perusal of its tone, I gather that we are going to be relegated FFS...is this possible, has anyone done the maths?

11 teams have to overtake us and there are 13 teams below us.

Every team below us can overtake our points total.

However they probably still have to play a lot of the teams also below us so its probably impossible that all of them would overtake us, even if we lost every game remaining.

I guess its like say we are 16th on 40 points. Cardiff and Fulham are relegated in 19th and 20th place.

Swansea and Norwich are in 17th and 18th on 35 points each.

There are 2 games left. Both teams could get 41 points and relegate us with 40 points in 18th.

Unless they have to play each other last game, even if they both win their penultimate game they cannot both overtake us on the last day.

The PL's history has precedent of 48 points being relegated. In the first season (92/93), Crystal Palace was relegated with 49 points!

We could become the worlds richest club, we must be what 1000 to 1 maybe more to go down if we put our entire war chest plus a loan if 100 mil on it then get relagated we'd have billions, have Messi up front in championship.

I think West Ham were the last team to be relegated on more than 40 points (42) in the 2003 season. I think usually if you get to 40 you are OK.

For us to be relegated now, it would take a points deduction I think, even if it is mathematically possible, it is not mathematically probable.
