Deep down inside some people are so full of insecurities and self-hate that they'll never come to realize because they subconsciously cover it up up with their ego... And if you confront them with it, they'll just take it as an insult and get mad.

Some people just stick to words, ie belittling, passive aggressive insults to tear other people down and hurt them so they can feel better about their own miserable existence. But for a certain few, words aren't enough and they need to physically hurt you to feel better about themselves...

Basically they're incapable of self-controlling their own words and actions, so they need to control and dominate you.
