If it's down to a low offer mate, it makes me wonder if we are just looking for a cheap alternative as a back up to Baines, and not someone who'll come in as first choice.

I have to say I think Robinson is a very good prospect for us and signing Digne would allow him to develop from our bench after Baines steps aside.
If we did sign Tiernay I think Robinsons future would lay elsewhere given the Celtic youngsters age.
Just personal preference like.

More a case of the club maybe not seeing it as a massive priority to bring in a left - back now, so we're not willing to spend big, or what it would take to get Digne?

Cant have it both way lads. If you can get a good player for less than market value, why pay more? A good DOF identifies unseen values and goes after them, but in order to get a GREAT deal you usually have to get the selling club to agree to a fee less than what they want, which they are going to need quite some time and hammering to agree to.

If we actually start haggling with clubs and not just giving them what they want then it all chips away at the stupid amount we just spent on Richarlison. 4 Mil of this makes Richarlison go from 44 to 40 starts to make me feel better

Richarlison was training with the Watford squad 24 hours ago. Digne would not board the plane until tomorrow so there might be a chance to agree a fee very soon.
