Transfer Rumour Luis Diaz

I read the bit about him on £200k per week and question the sanity of the whole saga.

Yet it was reported as low as £90k last September when he signed and we were on a 7-match winning streak.

Funny that.

For certain, mind, Diaz would be on much less than £200k a week

My main thing was the whole playing James to play for someone else thing mate. A tiny cut, alright, but anything above 15% and it's taking the biscuit imo.

I think they'll still be working on it. There's no way we can afford what Porto want so the only option is to include James it seems

I see your point entirely, but if it’s a way to bend FFP then I’m all for it.

Never should we have to pay it, it’s football manager stuff, but if his wages are £200k and we had to pay half, it’s less than 4mil, which is a small price to pay for a vast improvement in the squad.

I don’t think it’ll happen, just giving my opinion for why I’m not entirely against paying 50% if it gives us genuine upgrade to the current playing style.

Just saying mate but James out and Diaz in isn't a 'vast improvement'. Like, it's just not.

Diaz would seem more suited to what RB wants though, definitely agree there.

James is a generational talent, and personally for me (and it’s a true sign of how far we’ve fallen) that it’s a privilege to have a play of his quality playing for us.

But I don’t think he suits Rafas style and we can’t really plan accordingly as come May he packs his bags and he’s off, never to return. In that regard it’s a vast improvement.

Dias whether we like it or not, will use Everton as a stepping stone to greater things (unless we adapt, and improve, of course) but that’s a model we should be following regardless until we can (hopefully) establish ourselves as a top team, and we’re no longer the stepping stone.
