Lukaku - A Fond Farewell

Yep because all 3000 blues did that to him so in turn deserved to be goaded. This forum isn't real life, it's also not a representation of all Everton fans.

Would you have said that at OT today? Just as he did it?

I didn't say it was directed at them in particular although I'd guess many of them did give him grief.
If you want to give players stick you can't whinge when they give it back

I had to laugh though. Not so much a laugh as a punch drunk grin, when rom was interviewed and asked about his ear cupping. He said it was "banter, and ok that's football".
I'd have kicked the tele over but I was at me ma's

Not all 3,000 but a significant number did so in his mind he will be justified. I think he's one of them who is quite involved in the Social Media aspect, probably due to his age and therefore a lot of the online stuff actually bothers him. You could see that by his clear dig aimed back at the Everton fans when he was in LA playing on that pitch with the Chelsea advertising. Think he needs to mature a bit to be honest and accept that there will always be people who over step the mark and it doesn't represent everyone.

I personally never booed him so did find his actions disrespectful as he's basically stuck 2 fingers up to the club who got him to where he is now and those fans who supported him. He let himself down today, but equally our fans can't cry about it if they were giving him abuse, I heard a small number of disgraceful comments aimed at him as well.

An ex player who was ridiculed and abused by so many as being lazy and selfish and a flat track bully. Not what we needed, wouldn't be a lose if he left blah blah blah.

Yet he has scored more goals that our entire team in the premier league.

And had the same number of goals as our whole team in the PL and Europa League.

People should be unhappy at the players we have and he manager, not Lukaku for being a great player.
Nobody's unhappy that he's a great player mate, just don't love it when a player that was our record signing and one of our highest paid players ever scores against us and mocks us when he does so. I was just surprised you seemed to get off on that.

And those that said he wasn't a great player were in the minority. I and the vast majority of Everton fans recognised him as without doubt the best striker we'd had in a long time.

You pay your money you say what you like. Personally I hate the abuse of players, it's cowardly and laughable when grown men get all pissy when a player gestures back.
Just as cowardly as digging out fellow Evertonians and as cowardly as saying it's ok to goad thousands of fans the majority of which won't even use any form of social media.

The way I'm looking at it is this, I'm looking out for fellow blues. I'm not looking out for a UTD striker and wishing him well. A Inited player FFS? Aren't we supposed to be rivals? It's as cringey as it gets for me.
