Drogba on his way back to Chelsea.......

on his way back to us!
boss goal that. He scored some absolute crackerjacks and it would be a fantastic deal for us if we got him. He would slot 20+ PL goals and finish on 30+ for the season in all comps imo. 18-22m and its great business for us as this kid knows where the back of the net is.

As much as I'd love it , I can't see this happening.

Nevermind the whole will he / won't he stay at Chelsea fiasco, he's that good - and that highly rated in the football world that if a bid that Everton could afford was accepted I reckon a CL team would be in there like a shot.

He's genuinely good enough to play for a team like AC or Inter at the moment, most of the German CL clubs and the Spanish ones too. All clubs with bigger names, playing football at a higher level in nicer climates.

The kind of bid we could afford wouldn't be out of anyone's price range at that level and they would be buying him on the same basis we would be, 5 year deal and either a profit or at least 5 years good service from a very good young striker with an excellent record for his age in market where investments are more important than ever due to FFP

It wasn't that long ago that he was one of the highest rated youngsters in the world and he hasn't failed since, only improved. So all the big clubs are more than aware of him and what he's about.

I think he'd be our biggest signing in probably my lifetime , since Kanchelskis at least. But I can see us losing out whilst Bill is on SSN grinning about how close we were and how it proves we're in the market for the very best.

We'll then sign DJ Campbell

What's the odds on us signing DJ Campbell ? Given your knowledge on the matter this has to be worth a punt.

Could mean the opposite, Drogba is his hero.

Lukaku feels he should be 1st choice these days, 2nd choice at the very least. Chelsea have spent £30 million on Costa, plus Torres, and are about to sign Mourinho's best mate. Plus the fact Mourinho only ever plays 1 Upfront. He's ours I tell ya........

But the bolded bit isn't what we are doing - we are looking for a first choice striker both domestically and in Europe.

Sure the fact we are unlikely to lose money on the deal is nice and might make us more willing to break our transfer record but the important thing is we need a first choice striker and that is what Lukaku has said he wants to be. All the CL teams already have at least one, if not more, experienced strikers who will be selected before Lukaku would be - he'd be swapping Chelsea's bench for theirs.

So although they might like him (Juventus is rumoured to still be slighlty interested despite already having 3 on their books) it is a lot of transfer fees/wage to shell out for a guy who is likely to kick up a fuss if he is not used a lot. Atletico Madrid was probably his best option but they have now signed Manzuckic.

Thats not how public companies work.

You can't dilute the shares without the agreement of the existing shareholders. Who want their money back.

It all depends on the shareholder agreement but even that can be changed if you hold over a certain percentage.

There are minority shareholder rights but they even only apply if the other party holds less than a certain amount.

The only thing that you have to do is make sure you don't do anything that disadvantages one shareholder over another but if you can justify why you are doing it then you can.

The truth is all this kind of stuff is very complicated and there's no real absolutes.
