You're making three assumptions there.

One is that there's benefit to him playing in Serie A as opposed to in the premier league. Is there really? Serie A is pretty dire tbh outside of a couple of teams.

Second is that there's benefit to him playing a couple of months then getting splinters in his a*se once Morata comes back.

Third is that Mourinho actually wants Lukaku in 12 months, which I'm really not sure he does tbh. And if he does, the Juve thing makes no difference as we wouldn't be able to sign him permanently anyway.

True, I'll give you those as three very valid points. I suppose the key one really is the question as to whether Mourinho wants him or not. If he doesn't then we need to go hell for leather and sign him now. If he does, then, as you rightly say, none of this matters any more. Let's hope that Lukaku gets back from holiday and realises that Mourinho just doesn't want him and agrees to join us asap.

It could be just another silly rumour but the Daily Mirror is now saying that bloody Juventus might ask to take Lukaku on loan. If this is true I think we have missed out as Chelsea will see real benefit from having him play a season in Seria A and he will also get to play CL football. That leaves him ready to return to Chelsea in 2015/2016 when Drogba's playing contract expires (assuming he joins Chelsea as a player for 12 months).

Feeling depressed now.

Or Mourinho could get £20+million for a player he never bought and has never really rated!

Going off quotes I've read from him I'd be shocked if Lukaku agreed to go out on loan again. I don't think Mourinho has any plans to use him in all honesty. I'm about 95% sure he won't be a registered Chelsea player after September 2nd.

He can't go out on loan again unless he signs a new contract as he's only got 24 months left, and I simply can't see him taking a new contract off Chelsea in order to go off out on loan again
