I cannot wait for this Lukaku saga to end one way or the other, its bored the living hell out of me for ages, never been so bored of hearing the same name over and over, for weeks,-then people panic when they think he's not comming, to been made up when they think he is comming, still think he's comming myself though-might just ask my uncle to ask the boss himself

why? we haven't had a chance to sign someone of his potential probably since kanchelskis, why should we be giving up, even 2 weeks before the season, never mind 4/5 weeks? before the end of the window. he turned the west ham game on his head within 10 mins of being here, he's had a season on top of that, doesn't need bedding in etc.

he could lead our line for over a decade, you don't just give up on something like this so easily.
I do agree, I want him as much as you do but I don't want the possibility of waiting too long for him to make a decision, and then him rejecting us - leaving us very little time to spend the money we we're going to spend on him.

The other thing is that a signing like Lukaku could be a statement of intent. No longer are Everton just unearthing hidden gems and overlooked castoffs, they're willing to drop money on a big name striker and make a go of actually taking the next step.

It could be something that helps us get Barkley and Mirallas to sign new contracts, not to mention further our status as a place for young up and coming stars to make a name for themselves.

Lukaku is huge business and worth the wait.

I do hope we get a second striker as well, even if it's just a loan.

martinez will have plan b and c in place should this case arise, i'm positive. he will also bring in the backup striker before the leicester game if he knows lukaku won't be done by then.

i have the faith

exactly, i'm not sure we can attract a striker as good as him in the world with his scoring record tbh. i doubt he'd spend his whole career here if he does come, but he will give us great service when he is here and we will sell for a massive profit whilst raising our status to be in the position to buy 2/3 players of his current ability.
