They're devastated for two reasons.

First, they've been shown to be absolute thundervaginas in their coverage of us since last season with the loan system.

Secondly, they now have to think of another angle of attack to belittle us. A £24m+ signing for a massively rated centre forward doesn't sit well with their plucky little Everton angle.

There will be a media blackout too of it.

There will be some journalists with egg on their face looking for another way to spin a story to belittle the club. See @ijjysmith twitter quote on coverage from the Daily Mirror.

Seamus Coleman. Leighton Baines. Ross Barkley all to be sold according to them.

Its happened for years now.

Tonight is one of them payback nights.

Th
the sky 5 are gonna be pissed at this signing boys, they're supposed to take our players don't you know
These lazy gets are actually having to respond to something a bit different other that their usual sky 5 plucky skint everton not good enough to have top players stories. Expect more negativity as we get better lads. You should have seen how hard it was to win people over in the 80s before the sky "we created football" era!!! Frustrating for us not to see us rated as top team but we just have to muscle our way in by actually winning things. Anything less is old gets like me talking about our excellent history!!

Is it any wonder the gobsh*tes on RAWK are laughed at by every other club forum? Post sense on that site, and you get slated.

One sensible poster put:
"Everton play a similar game, with a similar formation, and Lukaku scored 15 and got 6 assists in 31 games, including 2 in 2 when playing wide-right.
Only 21, easy re-sale option if things didn't work, think he's good value at a 1/3 of Suarez."

This was followed up by a torrent of abuse and stupid posts such as:

"Lukaku, the 2014 Emile Heskey."

"Their play is nowhere near as fluid as ours, sure Lukaku is young but he has huge gaps in his game such as a very weak first touch, meh passing and an issue with inconsistency.

"I wouldn't want us to get Bony, but for £19m he presents much better value and a better rounded game"

And this one made me roar with laughter:"We paid 10 million for a youngster who kept him out of the Belguim first team in the world cup.
Yea great buisness by Everton that."

Lovren's many things, but mediocre isn't one of them. Let's not lose our heads.

I hear talk of him from Rodgers as being 'a leader'. He doesn't come across that way to me. Corluka looked the organiser for Croatia in the WC, and I never noticed Lovren as being the rock that Southampton were built on. Maybe I wasn't concentrating too hard, I dont know, but he wasn't a stand out performer for me. The top clubs in the division were looking for CBs this summer. I dont remember any interest expressed for his services, which is why Liverpool paying that crazy money is so noteworthy.
