what about when he's out of form? and we need him to do the basics of holding up the ball to link up play and wait for support... he showed time and time again last season he is incapable of doing that...

Personally I couldn't name one. Not one that would be a realistic signing, an instant success in the league and of the same age and ability.
 

Plenty of strikers can hold the ball up. Shola Ameobi can do that.

It's all about scoring and Lukaku can score. Go hate on someone else
 
There's nothing I'd like more than for Roberto to pluck a total random out of the Chilean 2nd division and for that player to blossom at Everton into the next Robin Van Persie. But let's be realistic, there's about 50 Magaye Guaye's for every one who 'might' become that good.
We need top players to impact the 1st team next season. Part of Rom's appeal is that, if you're going to spend big at Everton then you just can't get it wrong. We couldn't afford that and Rom's a fairly safe bet

15+ goals 2 seasons in a row does not negate having the touch of an elephant. "Oi! Barkley, what are you doing pinging a ball at me and expecting a return, you know I can't do that. The other team have broken and scored now, put it in front of me"

Origi made his performance look what it was , [Poor language removed].

In effect what people are describing lukaku as is a luxury striker.
