If that's the return of a bad season, I'd say we need to keep him, and play to his strengths... What would a good season look like?...

No mate. He said he wanted to win things.

Obviously that means he wants to leave and is a bad judas because everyone knows Everton don't win things.

We all thought he was a proper Blue and would retire here.

Can't believe he's come out and said he won't win anything with Everton so wants to leave tbh.

Just look at peoples hero Tim Cahills return over the years in the prem and all competitions.. hardly ever got over 10 goals.

(Not a slight on tim cahill but a player who heavily relied on his goals because otherwise was very limited)

I can see it both ways. We have a poor manager, a shambolic board who aspire to mediocrity, and a set of fans seemingly quite happy with 10th who think the best way for us to improve is to castigate our 20 goal a season striker for having a bad first touch.

On the other side though it annoys me that players seem to have forgotten that they are the ones who need to perform to win trophies. Now players just see a handful of clubs and perform only to get a move to them. Lukaku or Mirallas are not thinking 'I'll win something for Everton'. He just used us for regular football until he's good enough to be guaranteed first team for a guaranteed trophy side. Modern football sadly. A load of players desperately trying to climb the money chain.

Here we go.

I doubt he is talking about us

@HLNinEngeland: R. Lukaku in @SportVoetbal: "I want to win titles. I want to know how it feels to play in the big games. I'm 22. Its time to win trophies."
I hope we sell Lukaku, McCarthy & Mirallas, sick of these jokers coming over here stealing our trophies and women.

In what sense do we have a poor manager? How can that statement be justified? Did we have a poor manager when he orchestrated a 21 win, 72 point record breaking campaign playing what most critics felt was our best football seen for a generation? And he's that poor that he dragged some backwoods club like Wigan to FA Cup success?

He and we had a poor season. That's about as far as it goes.

I thought he'd leave next summer; not mouth off after one year. Wanting to win trophies is fine; the way you justify that stance is by proving you are good enough for the big clubs.

Even rats like Suarez gave three seasons at Ajax and Liverpool, despite being obviously too good for them, before moving on. Has Lukaku performed to that standard and beyond to justify mouthing off after being just 12 months into a four year plus contract? Not for me.

It grieves me to say it because he played for our neighbours, apart from being a sneaky in his play let's admit he is world class, a hell of a striker and player. Wish to heavens we had him for a season or two.

And then to relegation, missed that one out Dave. If you are going to make a statement, make it in full not pick and choose the bits that suit you.
