Can Oviedo play right back too? Sure I've seen him there before?

I genuinely, honestly don't see how Hibbert is still on the books.

If Coleman is injured then Browning can play there. If both are unavailable then Oviedo can play there in an emergency, or even Jagielka in a major injury crisis.

Can't be bad eh picking up 25k a week knowing you're fifth choice right back.

'I have grown to have an affinity with the club'

Not exactly Brian Labone is he?
TBF the days of loyalty one club players are over unless you have to tempt them with massive pay rises!
the 1960/70;s berfore the prem era wher on wages of 3 times more than a well paid Ford worker- now they are on film star wages! Agents etc!

He re-tweeted some stuff about younger players getting a chance just at that point when Martinez had fielded an ageing starting line up and was getting stick for it.

It happened and it was far from a coincidence, imo.

Anyway, it's done now and we should move on. Loan Garbutt out to a Championship club if, as appears to be the case now, no PL club have shown an interest in him.

@davek. Dave I certainly thought that he was leaving and I didn't think it would have been an enormous loss. I agree with you that there were times when he would have been better off keeping his mouth shut.

However, he is a young English product of our academy and I am glad he is staying.
It would have been a very difficult decision for him as he simply cannot afford to be sitting on an Everton bench for two or three seasons. He needs to play.
If there are get out clauses in his contract relating to non playing then that is understandable.
He obviously believes in his own ability , he is the current England under 21 left back so me must be in consideration at international level. He now needs to prove in domestic football that he is good enough.

But still a very positive result for the club.
